Our approach

Calculators that do one job, and do it right.

Hourlyfy started from a simple complaint: most "all-in-one" time calculators quietly do the same calculation nine different ways and call it nine tools. We built the opposite — nine calculators, each with its own logic, for the nine questions people actually ask about hours and pay.

Our mission

Make time maths something you never have to double-check

Whether you're a manager closing out a payroll week or someone billing a client by the hour, the questions are always specific: how many hours did I actually work, what counts as overtime, and what does that come out to in pay? Hourlyfy answers those questions directly, without asking you to adapt a generic tool to your situation.

Every calculator on the site handles overnight shifts, validates the numbers you enter, and shows its work — so the result is something you can hand to someone else with confidence.

What guides the build

Three things every calculator has to get right

Accuracy

Correct before it's convenient

Midnight and noon are handled explicitly, overnight shifts are detected automatically, and every worked example in our own testing matches its expected result before a calculator ships.

Clarity

Results you can explain to someone else

Every result comes with a breakdown — regular hours, overtime hours, the pay for each — not just a single final number you have to take on faith.

Accessibility

Usable on whatever device is in front of you

Every calculator works the same way on a phone at the end of a shift as it does on a desktop at the start of a payroll run.

How we think about limits

An estimate, not a substitute for payroll software

Hourlyfy's calculators are built to be accurate at the arithmetic they perform: durations, overtime splits, and pay estimates from the numbers you provide. They don't know your local labor law, your company's specific overtime policy, or your tax situation — so we say so, clearly, rather than pretend otherwise.

For payroll you'll actually run, treat these results as a fast, reliable starting point, and confirm anything that affects a payslip against your employer's policy or a qualified professional. More on that in our disclaimer.

Who runs this

About the team behind Hourlyfy

Hourlyfy is an independent project built and maintained by the Hourlyfy team. We built it because most work-hours calculators try to be one tool for every job; we'd rather ship nine small, accurate ones. There's no company behind this beyond that — just a commitment to keeping the calculators free, fast, and correct.
